Paulette Mertes (@P_M_Studios):
Paulette Mertes, originally from Chicago, began her professional photography career as a photojournalist over 20 years ago earning several Associated Press awards and the Tribune President's Award. She went on to specialize in portrait, commercial, and nature photography and currently owns a photography studio in West Hartford, CT. Paulette has just qualified for her Master of Photography Degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and has earned many awards for her work including the Connecticut Professional Photographers Association's "Portrait Photographer of the Year" the last 4 years in a row and "Creative Photographer of the Year" the last 3 years. She has also earned international recognition from PPA when awarded "Photographer of the Year" three years running. Mertes has several images in the prestigious PPA Permanent Loan Collection and was honored with the Canon Award of Excellence for her overall body of work, including portrait and nature photography.

Jane Shauck (@janeshauck):
Jane Shauck is an award winning commercial and family photographer based in West Hartford, CT. She's president of the Connecticut chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), and her clients include SportsNet NY, The New York Mets, Xerox, GE and the UConn Women's Basketball Team. Jane has an MBA from Boston College and speaks to photography groups on improving photographers' business skills. She's married to her business partner, Mike and they have two energetic boys, Sebbie and Jude. Jane and Mike run their photography studio in West Hartford Center at 10 LaSalle Road, across from Starbucks.

Chion Wolf (@ChionWolf):
Chion Wolf appreciated photography ever since she looked through her Fisher-Price View-Master. After joining WNPR, Connecticut Public Radio, she realized that with the internet as a stage, photography was a new necessity for radio reporting. Subjects soon included the Dalai Lama, an experimental blimp, politicians, celebrities, students, protesters, artists, and big thinkers. Wolf is drawn to photographs that startle, that amuse, that have tension and clarity. She shoots with two Canon 5D Mark II's, equipped most often with a 24-70 2.8L, and 70-200 2.8L, and is at the same time excited about the intimacy a decent cell phone camera can bring in the new world of digital photography.
