Membership
Join others who value what we can learn from the past! Members receive free admission to the Connecticut Historical Society, use of the Research Center, free or reduced admission to programs and workshops, CHS store discounts, guest passes, and other benefits. You can purchase memberships online or download the membership form at the bottom of this page.
Individual and Household Memberships
Individual Membership* — $40 BUY NOW!
Household Membership* (two adults with children under 18 at the same address) — $50 BUY NOW!
*Seniors (age 65+), students, and out-of-state residents receive a $5 discount of individual and household membership.
Benefits Include:
- Unlimited free admission to the CHS Research Center and Museum plus two guest passes
- Unlimited free admission to Connecticut's Old State House in Hartford
- Reduced rates for Research Center services (including personalized research by staff), and for the purchase of photocopies and electronic images
- Priority handling of mail/email research requests
- Members may also arrange to use the Research Center by appointment, when we're closed to the public
- Subscription to Making History
- Discount on CHS Store purchases
- Invitations to exhibition openings, book talks, workshops, lectures, family programs, off-site programs, the annual meeting, and other member only events
Membership Circles

Henry Barnard was an educator and the Connecticut Historical Society’s first historian, 1889.

Thomas Day was the Secretary of the State and the Connecticut Historical Society’s first Corresponding Secretary, 1839.

Ellen Larned was a historian of Windham County and the Connecticut Historical Society's first female member and officer, 1890.
