The Connecticut Historical Society's extensive postcard collection includes views of almost every town in Connecticut. Tourist destinations such as historical landmarks, scenic areas, amusements, hotels, inns and restaurants are especially well-represented, but the collection also includes depictions of celebrations, such as town centennials and bridge dedications. Many other postcards depict local businesses and industries. Some were even used for advertising purposes. Some very early postcards depict individuals and their residences.
