The Connecticut Historical Society, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, relies on contributions from individuals, foundations, businesses, and corporations to fund our operations and services. Over 1,250 members enjoy our museum, library, and programs. You can too! Simply complete the form and well send you a membership application. Members receive free admission to the museum galleries and library, our newsletter, free or discounted admission to programs, activities and trips, and invitations to receptions, special events, and the annual meeting. There are many different membership categories, including special memberships for families, students, seniors and out-of-state residents. As a volunteer, you can make new friends and help us complete important projects. Volunteers at the CHS give tours, catalog historical materials, plan events and more. In cooperation with the Capitol Region Education Council, the CHS partners fourth and fifth grade students and teachers from urban and suburban school districts for a series of museum visits and educational programs. Learn more. Most of the items we collect are given to us by individuals and families—people who want to make sure Connecticuts story, and their own, are never forgotten. Your grandfathers tool chest or your aunts graduation photo can be as important as a rare piece of 18th-century furniture. Anything that can help us preserve the memories and experiences of Connecticuts diverse people is valuable.
