NEXT WEEK! Friday, June 29 "Eliphalet Chapin: A Leading Force behind Connecticut Valley Furniture" Lecture/Demonstration by Will Neptune
The furniture in the Chapin group is well known and widely admired as a regional interpretation of Rococo design. Ball-and-claw feet, vine-carved drawer fronts, and the "rooster" cartouche are characteristic features. In this unique lecture/demonstration furniture maker Will Neptune will look at these iconic designs and explain and demonstrate the interaction of materials, patterns, tools and methods of work. Will Neptune is a graduate of the North Bennet Street School, a furniture maker, teacher, and author of numerous articles for Fine Woodworking Magazine.
