How-To Workshop: Researching Your Historic House
Saturday, November 12 10:00 am - 12:00 noon $15 CHS members $20 non-members
This workshop, which features the CHS collection of architectural plans and drawings, will be led by independent researcher Samuel Benton Guiney III and CHS Curator of Graphics Nancy Finlay. The introduction will provide a background survey of domestic architectural styles in Hartford, and participants will examine the variety of Research Center resources (photographs, maps and atlases, newspapers, city directories) and online databases available for historic house research. Participants will also be able to use these resources to investigate their own houses. Registration includes admission to the Research Center and museum exhibits after the workshop. Concert/Family Program: Bluegrass Performance by Phil Rosenthal
Saturday, November 12 | 2:00 pm FREE with general admission
Join us for an indoor folk and bluegrass performance by renowned singer and songwriter Phil Rosenthal. Phil will combine his musical performance (including a sing-along or two!) with explanations of traditional music styles and stories to create a show that is great for all ages!
