This is the first biography of one of Connecticut's most colorful and notorious statesmen. A pivotal figure at the end of the 19th century, Morgan Bulkeley was president of Aetna Life and also served four terms as mayor of Hartford, two terms as Connecticut's governor, and one term in the U.S. Senate. Kevin Murphy is also the author of Water for Hartford, the Story of the Hartford Water Works and the Metropolitan District Commission. See the micro-exhibit about Thomas Hooker and the history of brewing in Connecticut that the CHS created for the brewery's new entertainment center, along with a slide show of CHS treasures on their huge flat-panel screens.
