New York Times best-selling author Julie Fenster will discuss the invention of anesthesia and the role of Hartford's own Horace Wells in one of medicine's greatest discoveries. Special Event/Family Program: Demonstration Day with the Handweavers' Guild of Connecticut
Saturday, May 4 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm | FREE

Join us for a day of demonstrations and activities for both families and adults! Handweavers will demonstrate various looms and spinning wheels, and visitors can try out an inkle loom and a Dorset loom. A special area for kids will offer hands-on projects to take home. From the servants' quarters to the original elevator, explore the architecture and see some of the non-public details of the 1928 house that is now the Connecticut Historical Society.
