Catalogs & Online Resources

The catalogs and subject guides available online represent part of our vast collection and are a great introduction to the many materials available for research at the Connecticut Historical Society. Other non-electronic catalogs and resources may be searched on-site. We encourage you to contact Diana McCain, Head of the Research Center, at research_center@chs.org or (860) 236-5621 x213 for more information or help searching our collection.

To find out more about recently cataloged manuscripts, don’t forget to check out the Manuscripts Blog.

Civil War Monuments Survey

Just in time for the sesquicentennial! As the Civil War anniversary begins in 2011, the Civil War Monuments survey is back on the Connecticut Historical Society's website after a much-needed web code scrubbing (11 year-old code is hard to scrub). PLEASE NOTE: the content and the photographs have not been updated. A new Civil War Monuments website is under construction, under the guidance of Mary Donohue of the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, and Matt Warshauer, of Central Connecticut State University, but we all decided that we would revive the old site until the new one is completed.
